Sports | Seahawks could lose 2nd-rounder for not disclosing Sherman injury

The Seattle Seahawks could lose a second-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft as punishment for failing to disclose star cornerback Richard Sherman‘s MCL injury during the season, reports Chris Mortensen of ESPN.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll revealed Monday that Sherman had played through the knee injury for the second half of the season. However, Sherman never appeared on Seattle’s injury report with the ailment, reportedly prompting the league to start an investigation into the matter.

The Seahawks hold the 56th overall pick in the second round. In September, the Seahawks were docked a fifth-round pick and fined $400,000 for a violation of the NFL’s offseason practice rules. If the league does take away a second-rounder, it will likely be an elevation of the fifth-rounder, notes Mortensen
