R&B singer Glenn Lewis returns to the music scene with his new single “Can’t Say Love,” a ballad from his upcoming Ruffhouse/EMI album Moment of Truth, which displays his incredible vocal range and is poised to usher in a revival of the genre.

Hailing from Toronto by way of Philadelphia, Glenn Lewis has reached his moment of truth. Growing up outside of the U.S., Lewis was exposed to a wide range of American R&B culture. Finding a deep appreciation for soul and R&B music through artists like Stevie Wonder, Sam Cooke, and Donnie Hathaway, he learned early on to identify with true artistry and the beauty of a well-crafted composition.

Lewis quickly earned praise, as his first and second singles were nominated for a Juno award (Canada’s equivalent to an American Music Award). In 2002, Lewis released his critically acclaimed debut album World Outside My Window, which garnered him praise for his vocal ability. The lead single “Don’t You Forget It” reached number 4 on the Billboard charts, won a Juno award for “Best R&B Soul Performance” and lead to a national tour alongside Alicia Keys.

After a few independent releases and a Grammy nomination for his work with composer Stanley Clarke and Amel Larrieux, Glenn Lewis returns with “Can’t Say Love.” Lewis’ sophomore major-label LP is slated for release August 20, 2013 through a joint venture between the legendary RuffHouse records and EMI.

Ginger Howard, a 17-year old golf player, has officially become a member of the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association), making her the youngest ever. She is also the fifth Black American woman to join the LPGA Tour. While her popularity is still very low, all of that will likely change as Howard continues to advance with her performance.

Ginger has won 78 trophies, including 1st place at 41 out of 66 events. She was named to Tiger Wood’s Junior Golf Foundation in 2003 & 2005, and recently made national TV appearances on the John Walsh Show for Amazing Kids, Comcast SportsNet, NBC4 and George Michael Sports Machine. She’s also been featured on ESPN.com and in the New York Times’ Play Magazine.

Jes Baker is cutting retailer Abercrombie & Fitch down to size. Baker, who blogs under the name “The Militant Baker” and wears a size 22, changed the brand’s A&F logo to “Attractive & Fat” in a mock, black-and-white Abercrombie ad to challenge the line’s branding efforts.

The photos come as a provocative response to contentious comments Abercrombie CEO Mike Jeffries made in a 2006 Salon article about the multibillion-dollar brand’s target audience.

“In every school there are the cool and popular kids, and then there are the not-so-cool kids,” Jeffries said. “Candidly, we go after the cool kids. We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don’t belong [in our clothes], and they can’t belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely.”

The divisive remarks resurfaced earlier this month after a series of protests went viral, from Greg Karber’s video of himself giving homeless people Abercrombie clothing to a Change.org petition for larger sizes by a teenage eating disorder survivor.

Victoria’s Secret model quits biz for God: While women may gaze longingly at Victoria’s Secret poster girls and wish they had their endless legs and always-perfect hair, they may not know what a career as a model is really like. At least, until now.

When former Victoria’s Secret model Kylie Bisutti chose to end her modeling career at the ripe age of 23, she chose to write a book about it — and the stories within reveal quite a bit of information about what she believes the industry promotes women to become. The copy on her website for the book reads: “She realized that she could no longer reconcile her career with her Christian beliefs, surrendered her life to God, said goodbye to the runway and dedicated her life to preaching a message of modesty and inner beauty.”

Bisutti moved to New York at age 15 and spent years as a struggling model trying to break in before she won the Victoria’s Secret Runway Angel competition in 2009. From there, she experienced many negative reactions to the industry, including “feeling like a piece of meat” and being told she was “fat” at 115 pounds. She says she prayed about the matter and made a decision that her faith was important than remaining a part of the modeling business’ excessive expectations.

A divorce case filed here two months ago that bears only the initials of the husband and wife has all the hallmarks of being that of Spurs star Tim Duncan and his wife, Amy. The case is playing out in Bexar County District Court. Court papers filed last week include a request that legal discovery in the case be postponed until after the Spurs’ last playoff game.

Efforts to confirm Thursday that the legal proceedings involve Tim Duncan, 37, and Amy, 35, were unsuccessful. But there are a few other clues in the case that point to the couple:

The style of the case is A.S.D. vs. T.T.D. Tim Duncan’s middle name is Theodore. The petition says the couple married on or about July 21, 2001, which coincides with the date of the Duncans’ nuptials. Two children were born to the parties in the petition: A daughter with the initials S.I.D., born June 27, 2005, and a son, W.D.D., born Aug. 3, 2007.

The Duncans have a daughter, Sydney, who reportedly was born on that date. Their son, Draven, is believed to have been born in 2007, though an exact birth date couldn’t be determined. The Duncans were college sweethearts at Wake Forest University, where Tim starred on the Deacons basketball team and Amy was a cheerleader. Tim graduated in 1997 and was the first overall pick in the NBA draft, made by the Spurs.

A.S.D. initiated the divorce proceedings on March 27. T.T.D responded with a counter petition that was filed Monday. Richard Orsinger, one of A.S.D.’s divorce lawyers, wrote in an email that he had nothing to say on the subject.

POPULAR DJ DIES IN CAR CRASH: A popular Florida DJ and Florida A&M alum died Monday in a car crash. 43-year-old Sheldon Martinez, who was popularly known as DJ Saxwell, died from injuries he received from the car accident. According to local police, Martinez’s car traveled across a patch of grass, two lanes of traffic and then flipped over into a canal.

Police have not identified what caused him to lose control of the vehicle. Martinez’s funeral will be held May 25, 2013 at 12pm at the Faithworld Church in Altamonte Springs, Fl.

Morgan Freeman Falls Asleep During Live InterviewDuring a live interview with FOX affiliate Q13 in Seattle earlier this week, actor Morgan Freeman fell asleep. The veteran actor and his co-star Michael Caine were promoting their new movie ‘Now You See Me,’ about a group of illusionists who use their skills to rob banks.

Anchors Kaci Aitchison and Bill Wixey were chatting it up with their two special guests when it became obvious that Morgan was having trouble keeping his eyes open. The savvy interviewers never mentioned it during the segment or tried to rouse him from his slumber. The video went viral yesterday and Freeman later acknowledged: “I wasn’t actually sleeping. I’m a beta tester for Google Eyelids. I was merely updating my Facebook page.”

The anchors hit Twitter to poke fun at the situation. Wixey tweeted, “Morgan Freeman fell asleep while @KaciAitchison and I were interviewing him on @Q13FOX. I have that effect on people. So sorry to interrupt Morgan Freeman’s sleep.” Aitchison tweeted, “Morgan Freeman just fell asleep to the sound of our soothing voices.”

‘Now You See Me,’ co-starring Isla Fisher, Mark Ruffalo, Dave Franco, Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson, will be released in theaters beginning May 31.
