Rosie O’Donnell Wedding On Hold, Fiancee has Rare Disease
Rosie O’Donnell revealed Friday on her blog that her fiancee Michelle Rounds has been diagnosed with a rare disease. The couple announced in December that they were planning a summer wedding. That has all changed following a medical mystery that began many months ago.
Rosie blogged, “Again and again, her pain grew worse. It seemed impossible. No one know what was wrong. Life changed in an instant.” Doctors determined that Rounds has desmoid tumors, a rare disease that is not cancer but “acts cancerous” and only affects three out of every million people. O’Donnell revealed, “She is recovering from surgery in June. She’s getting stronger every day. We have joined the fight against this disease, raising money and awareness.”
In fact, when the couple does tie the knot they have decided that in lieu of wedding gifts, they’ll ask for donations to the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation.
