(AllHipHop News) Musical power couple Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter attended the City of Hope Spirit of Life Gala 2018 on October 11. The Santa Monica, California-set event was organized to collect money for the world-renowned nonprofit cancer treatment and research center.

According to Forbes, Jay and Bey helped raised more than $6 million for City of Hope. Warner/Chappell Publishing CEO and Chairman Jon Platt was also honored by the Roc Nation boss at the Gala.

“I can’t think of anyone more deserving to be prized in front of their peers and in front of the world than my brother, Jon Platt, the artist formerly known as Big Jon,” said Jay-Z as he introduced Platt.

Beyoncé reportedly performed several songs at the Gala. Other celebrities such as Dr. Dre, Tiffany Haddish, Usher, Quincy Jones, Bebe Rexha, Wiz Khalifa, Pharrell, Timbaland, Kelly Rowland, and Rita Ora were present at the affair as well.

“It was my pleasure to honor my friend Jon Platt for all the good work he does for The City of Hope. City of Hope makes creating medical miracles its priority in the fight against cancer and life-threatening diseases. If you’d like to help, you can contact them at cityofhope.org,” wrote Knowles-Carter on Instagram.
