(NY Post) Cops have arrested five people in the mistaken-identity slaying of a Bronx teen, police sources said Sunday. Police took two suspects into custody in the Bronx and tracked down three more in Paterson, NJ, sources said.
Five members of the deadly Dominican gang Trinitarios allegedly hacked 15-year-old Lesandro Guzman-Feliz with knives and a machete outside a Bronx deli Wednesday night, leaving him on the sidewalk to die.
Investigators believe it was a case of mistaken identity, according to sources. The victim was enrolled in the NYPD Explorers youth program and dreamed of being an NYPD detective, according to his family.
Funeral Plans Underway For 15-Year-Old Killed Outside Bronx Bodega
Rihanna paid tribute Sunday to the Bronx teen murdered in a horrific case of mistaken identity last week. “Can’t stop thinking about this poor baby boy, and how his family must feel right now!” the singer posted on Instagram, along with a photo of the slain 15-year-old, Lesandro Guzman-Feliz.
“I’m sincerely praying for your healing and #Justiceforjunior,” she added. Guzman-Feliz, an aspiring police officer, was dragged out of a Bronx bodega Wednesday night by five suspected gangbangers who hacked at him with knives.
The killers may have mistaken the teen for another young man seen in a raunchy video having sex with one of the thugs’ female relatives, police sources have said. Since the attack, more than 67,000 people have posted on Instagram using the hashtag #justiceforjunior. As of Sunday, over 4,000 people donated $110,685 to a GoFundMe set up for the family.
After learning of the tragic news, Cardi B, who was born and raised in the Bronx, donated $8,000 dollars to the GoFundMe account set up for Junior’s grieving family. ‘#JusticeforJunior. R.I.P. These Bronx streets are ruthless,’ the 25-year-old rapper said on Instagram.
She added: ‘What p*** me off the most is that these BX cops be harassing the s**t outta people. Then they see a boy bleeding to death and ask what happen.
‘How bout you call the ambulance like ya be calling for back up when ya see n****s smoking in front of a building! People be like “Call the police! Call the police!!” But the operators be asking you questions for like four minutes on the phone with an attitude and the cops come maaa lateeee.’
Cardi made a donation under her given name—Belcalis Almanzar. The GoFundMe account has raised more than $100,000 thus far. According to CBS New York, Guzman-Feliz was attacked by a group of five men who were in a local gang. The attackers struck Junior several times with a machete before leaving him for dead outside of a convenient store.
