DeJ Loaf is Paying for NYC Marriage Licenses to Celebrate New Song ‘Liberated’
DeJ Loaf Spreading The Love To Everyone.
In addition to the release of her song she also posted on her Instagram, that she would be aiding in the liberation of everyone’s marriage license. All the people have to do is show up to the New York City Hall and she will cover their marriage license expense.
Her generosity is not limited to just the LGBTQ community but to all those who still believe in love and are willing and not afraid of taking their love to the next level. The idea to do this stemmed from the Supreme Court ruling in favor of Colorado baker Jack Phillips, who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple, as reported by USA Today. The SCOTUS ruling stated the Colorado Civil Rights Commission violated Phillips’ rights under the First Amendment despite Colorado law prohibiting sexual orientation discrimination.
The songstress teased the release of her upcoming song on Instagram, a collaboration with Leon Bridges titled “Liberated.” The song is all about acceptance, with lyrics like, “If you feel free/Then you should lift your hands/Real love, less friends/So many things in this world I don’t understand/I won’t judge who you love or your brown skin.”
Congrats to DeJ Loaf on yet another of the many milestones in her career and as a person.
