Empowered Youth | Blue Ivy Carter Is Launching a Beauty Line

If Beyoncé runs the world, she’s ensuring that her five-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, is in line for her crown. Beyoncé’s company will soon launch a line of beauty-related products in her daughter’s name: from clothing to fragrances, hair and makeup supplies, and even mobile apps and games.

As Vanity Fair reported, Beyoncé and husband Jay Z recently applied to trademark the name “Blue Ivy Carter” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office after their 2012 attempt to trademark just “Blue Ivy” had unfortunately been denied (a Boston wedding planner already owned the name). Now, “Blue Ivy Carter” will be used on everything from merchandise to entertainment purposes—specifically, “in the nature of live musical performances; production of motion picture films (and) fan clubs.”

There is no official word as to what Blue Ivy’s cosmetics line will consist of, but the TMZ report focuses on fragrances. It could include hair care, cosmetics, and more, potentially aimed at the children’s market. We can only imagine young Blue going on Shark Tank to ask for $20,000 for a 5 percent stake in her company. Just kidding; her parents are helping her with funding (let’s call them angel investors).
