Bad Boys For Life Starring Will Smith And Martin Lawrence Gets 2020 Release Date
If we all make it to year 2020 I would love to see the trilogy. Martin just recently shared the news that there will be a re-boot of the Martin Lawrence Show with all the cast except for Tommy (RIP) who in recent years passed away.
(Madamenoire) Finally! I feel like I’ve been teased about our favorite cop duo reuniting for some years now. But according to Deadline, actors Will Smith and Martin Lawrence really are teaming up again to give us some more classic cop action in the film Bad Boys For Life. Unfortunately, these two are the definition of a tease because we still have to wait almost two years for the film to hit theaters. Woosah, everybody.
Sony Pictures Entertainment will release the film on Jan. 17, 2020, which happens to fall on Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend. Jerry Bruckheimer will produce once again, and it will be directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. Am I the only one excited about this? Apparently not because both Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have been steadily building up momentum for them to join forces again. And from what I can tell, fans are here for it.
Will Smith continued to throw a little bread crumb last month when he wished “the best damn partner ever” a happy birthday, asking “What you think Marty-Mar? One more time?” And of course, Martin replied, “Much love Will! Let’s do it again for sure.”
Bad Boys premiered in 1995, and Bad Boys II followed in 2003. Everyone knows that you can’t end this type of movie with just two installments. We’re ready for a trilogy! And it better be a good one because it seems like the script has already been “worked on” for almost four years. In August 2014, Conan O’Brien asked Martin whether a Bad Boys 3 was a real thing.
“I believe so, yes. I just talked to [producer] Jerry Bruckheimer yesterday and he said it’s real, they’re working on the script, they’re getting close, and it all looks good,” he said.
So, there you have it, ladies. Detectives “Mike Lowwwwwry” and “Marcus Burnett” will be coming to a theater near us…in two years. Will you be checkin’ for it?
