The month of June is also seen as a month that promotes freedom, thanks to the celebration of the proclamation of the eradication of slavery in the United States, which takes place on the 19th, and within that, the duo Chloe x Halle released, exclusively through the streaming service Apple Music, a cover of the success “Waterfalls”, from the group TLC.
Chloe x Halle took on a TLC classic. As part of Apple Music’s Juneteenth-inspired ‘Freedom Songs’ collection, the sisters put their spin on TLC’s “Waterfalls.”
“This song speaks so much to who we are as artists and human beings,” said Chloe x Halle. “We always say music is therapy to us because the lyrics are healing. There’s something about singing these words to yourself—it turns into an encouraging mantra that makes you feel inspired after listening.”
“Waterfalls” appeared on TLC’s 1994 album CrazySexyCool and spent seven weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Chloe releases another snippet of unreleased music
The year 2020, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, was one of great success and acclaim for the duo Chloe x Halle, who released the record “Ungodly Hour” and delivered to fans several iconic performances and online lives to promote the work. But this era, while successful, seems to be passing the baton to the next, as the sister duo are in the studio working on new songs.
Chloe showed an excerpt of an unreleased song, which is being produced by her in her home studio. In the video, the singer appears incorporating the beats in the track, which already features vocals and other elements.
